Nuristani Goat Cheese

Half way through the Lausanne III Congress on World Evangelisation I’m full of impressions.

Over 4000 people from all around the globe are mingling together in the huge top modern Cape Town International Conference Centre CTICC, listening to brilliant speakers and some not so brilliant, enjoying excellent musicians, dancers, actors and meeting new and interesting people in a seemingly never ending flow.

One of the most powerful testimonies so far has been the story told by Mrs Little, the widow of one of the ten Christians brutally killed in Afghanistan in August. The indescribable pain of the loss was powerfully combined with a love for the Afghani people and the gospel of Christ. Only by the grace of Jesus Christ a person can gain such a fully integrated faith. She reminded me about what it means to be a follower of Christ, her story made it clear how sweet and valuable the gospel is and how wonderful it is to be a child of God. Her exposition of the Nuristani goat cheese as metaphor of the gospel will stay in my thoughts for a very long time.

I am indeed priviledged belonging to Jesus Christ.
